Biography
KOKO DEBEST, whose real name is Keach Mar Rom, is a South Sudanese rapper and songwriter based in Juba.
Born on 15 November 1992, KOKO DEBEST began recording music in 2015 with his first song, “No More Competition.” His music has often explored subjects including life in disadvantaged communities, poverty and social issues.
KOKO DEBEST is also the founder and a member of Street Boyz, a South Sudanese hip-hop group that developed its music while living as refugees in East Africa.
As a solo artist, he has built an extensive catalogue that includes the 2020 album TEEK and songs such as “Maale,” “Chaar,” “Ke Gaat Ka,” “Nubi Nubi,” “Kualek” and “Rakuba.”
