Biography
Macco Bwoy, whose full name is Maluk Garang Akok, is a South Sudanese recording artist known for his work across reggae, dancehall and contemporary African music.
Born on 25 April 1996 in Magwi County, Eastern Equatoria, South Sudan, Macco Bwoy was raised in Kenya's Turkana region at the Kakuma refugee camp. He began singing as a member of a church choir before later working as a backup singer for Kenyan rappers.
Macco Bwoy gained wider recognition with “Sudanese Girls” in 2015 and has since built an extensive catalogue of solo releases and collaborations. His projects include the albums Atongoya and LoverBoy, with songs such as “Babydie,” “Nyan Shirkat,” “Junubia,” “Number One” and “Fire.”
Throughout his career, Macco Bwoy has collaborated with artists from South Sudan and the wider East African music scene, including Alijoma, Amac Don, A Pass, Marko Atem and John Frog.
